Distant

SerenWise

It feels like I'm drowning in darkening lights,

The quicksand is rising way over my head,

I'm kissing the void in these endless nights;

Our souls are entwined with invisible thread.

But right now it's twisted, stretched thin and taut,

It wrenches my heart - every beat amplified,

In a tangle of spider-web threads, I am caught,

There's no wish I hold more than to be by your side.
