Peace Ponderings

orchidee

Tune & Hymn: 'Peace, peace, Jesus is here'

[Written at The Pond on The Green]

*******

Peace, peace, here by quiet pool

peace, peace, leaving stress all

Waiting, resting a while

Fresh thoughts of God compile

Here with nature we rest

Come, Lord, us bless

Lead, lead us, calm waters

No harm or danger stirs

Take your time water-fowl

Ducks, birds, and nature tell

Of His providing sure

For evermore

Then when need to move on

Peace not forgot, forgone

For in our hearts you stay

your Spirit bides each day

Guide us along your way

Always, we pray

In creation you [are] seen

Have made all that has been

And all that is, will be

Your glories do we see

With your life you sustain

Us once again

  • Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 6.6.6.6.6.4. metre. Written sitting by a pond. Sorry I can't find a clip of the song. It's a bit obscure. Even a huge 'Hymnary' website can only find it in one not-well-known hymn book. See some ponds instead.
