WALK EASY.

Fay Slimm.

Walk Easy.

Bend to pick pleasantness buried
among memory's hills,
walk easy dear pilgrim
       when collecting gone specimens.

Miss not in seeking ways forward,
smooth is a path which,
if not distorted,
produces past truths unaltered.

Step past upsetting road signs,
dismiss without looking
at what often lies
hidden from distressing times.

Tread lightly over raw re-calls
bygone aches will hurt
by mis-notions so
take care in exposing the flaws.

Memory's mountain, perhaps
reveals dross before
real gold, dig deeper and
keep only gems of happiness.

Good write Fay. I'll take a walk. It may take some time with memories, seeing as I'm millions of years old, so I say. Well, my middle name is 'Fossil', so...!

    • Fay Slimm.

Memories can indeed take time Orchi - glad you enjoyed the read.

            Great write fay
when there is more behind us than in front Memory lane looks more appealing

            • Fay Slimm.

Looking back it is easy to see the failures for they came as a shock to the system and are truly eventful. But not necessarily meaningful. If instead we were to think of the positives which played their part then the whole episode becomes more meaningful and, if we take the positives forward into our lives, more reassuring and rewarding.
Gosh, thats my preacher bit over.
I enjoyed unravelling this, your final verse gave me inspiration.

              • Fay Slimm.

I value your thoughts on looking back for positives D.A. - - our lives then can benefit from failures and become more successful in future times.......... so pleased the read gave you inspiration.

That gold and the gems are all along memories path, the dross can always be excluded from those memories.
                    Good write Fay.
