Cigarettes

dnellis369

Silence fills my lungs
Nothing left to say or do
Light headedness fills my thoughts
The cigarette is all I have left

Caressing my soul with its mist
Blinding me losing my way
The feelings roll thin in me
What new feeling this is

Fear is beginning to sink
But it won't drown the thoughts
It fights back when the cigarette burns out
Taking it with me to the bottom

I try to fight its grasp
Refusing too to sink with it
Who will drown first I think
Me or the fear that won't die

I lay to rest for another day
Will fight another day
To one day put to rest my fear
To once again reunite with the one
To know true bliss is ones arms.

    Great Write
Sometimes one day at a time is all we have until tomorrow

To, brighter days they will come

Each day is special, keep fighting and those days will get better.
