Tune: Aberystwyth
('Jesu, lover of my soul')
*******
Help us, Lord, your face to seek
'Tis revealed to humble, meek
Whate'er our situation
And whate'er be our nation
Trusting to your wisdom, we
Many scenes of life do see
Your Son trod this earth before
Knows all human life for sure
Whether [we] seem to prosper more
Than some who have troubles sore
We cannot full understand
Yet 'tis under your good hand
Going on in grace each day
your Spirit shall guide our way
This we pray, and give light so
That we more your will may know
You Light of life, we shall view
Of your treasures old and new
Grow in your love, grace, mercy
Witnesses to you shall be
All 'tis by your appointing
We cannot bring one good thing
Of ourselves, we no merit
But by you for heaven made fit
Help us know your plan for each
We do pray, and you beseech
Not to waste in vanity
Things which profitless shall be
Your kingdom, your will shall last
When all earthly days are past
Choosing to put you first e'er
And your e'erlasting life share

Thanks Orchi
Lines 9-12 resonate with many people but true wise words
Blessing of the day to you
Thanks Andrew.
if ya gonna be diligent at all.. ya might as well be diligent daily... N
Thanks N. 'And don't dilly dally on the way....' I'll sing it (oh no!). That's used up all the 'd's, what with that, and daily diligences. All the 7's today - Bingo!
Oh your daily dalliances! ooooh, you are awful!
Thanks d a. I've run out of 'd's now. There's a couple more in this comment.
Good one Orchi.
The first line "Help us, Lord, your face to seek" reminded me of a joke
A teacher told her class to draw a persons face. she went to one girl and she was drawing away quite happily. "Who are you drawing?" the teacher asked. "God," the girl replied. "But nobody knows what God looks like." said the teacher. "They will when I have finished." replied the girl.
Oh lol, thanks Gold.
