I Need a Plaster

D. K. Heqet

Heart,
stuck on you.
A plaster.

Torn,
from you.
A disaster.

I thought it was...
happy ever after.
But,

the lies,
in your eyes.
Why?

Revenge?
For nothing..?
Someone get me a plaster.

Thoughts? This is a real gem. No pompous poets talk - just simple language elegantly constructed. Much enjoyed.

Very kind words Michael! This isn’t like my usual style, but I felt as though the construction of the poem built it into something special. Well, not special. But just it’s final form.
