A Moment

Neville

A Moment

For a moment time was stilled

And

Became a total irrelevance

It was then though

As I waited and watched from the sidelines

Like some predatory voyeur

That for a moment nothing

Whatsoever seemed to matter

Yet in that instant

A hunger came upon me

Heavy

Like some dark depressive curtain

It was then I lost

All sense of direction and purpose

It was then

I realised she was lost to me and gone forever

.

The time when truth hits is often just one moment and you describe the effect so well in this sad little verse - - another heart-tugger Nev. - - but I love your romantic laments.

Dramatic Neville, very dramatic. Which is exactly what the subject deserves..
That is one very well crafted piece. It gets better on successive re-reads too!
