DEATH IN THE HIGH STREET ~ RIP ~ ANGELA & BRIAN

ANGELA & BRIAN

WHERE HAVE ALL THE OLD SHOPS GONE ?

Long time passing ~ Liquidated everyone

Long time ago !

When WE was young ~ the shops weren*t borin*

WE loved Saturday High Street Storin*

Coke an* Buns on a High Street Mornin*

But thats all disappeared

Shops all empty ~ boarded up

Woolworths ~ M & S ~ sold a pup

Boutiques and a FIVER for a coffee cup

Deserted High Street ~ very weird !

WHERE HAVE ALL THE OLD SHOPS GONE ?

Long time passing ~ Liquidated every one

Long time ago !

PEOPLE now just shop on-line

Amazon ~ e-BAY ~ very fine

But spare a thought for Auld Lang Syne

Shops that served your GRANNY

Delicatessens ~ Grocers Green

Fish Shops ~ Butchers ~ cool & clean

Ice Creams on the Village Green

Now all sold from a VANNY !

WHERE HAVE ALL THE OLD SHOPS GONE ?

Lone time passing ~ Liquidated every one

Long time ago !

Thanks for visiting ~ comments welcome ~ Love A & B 🧡🧡🧡

We were born in 1983 & 1988 so we can just remember when

we were TEENS the bustle of the High Street on a Saturday

Morning with Mum ~ and the excitement of the Big Store in

LIVERPOOL (BRIAN) and LONDON (ANGELA). But its all changed

now especially in Provincial Towns ! Shops boarded up and a

Plethora of Charity Shops and Expensive Boutiques and Coffee

Shops ~ A FIVER (£5 = $8) fur Ein Kafee und Kucken ! Its the

same in every State in the USA ~ where High Street Stores

have been replaced by faceless boring MALLS ~ MALL after MALL !

LOL Just imagined the guy in the picture talking to his wife
    "No the shops closed"
    "No Closed Down"
No I'm not sitting outside there's someone talking a flaming picture"
    Great subject... Nostalgia
We are the change, We are to blame... Humans became bored bored with lifes inefficiencies like physically shopping. The High Street must just adapt to what we want like social and leisure experiences... We'll work it out... CHANGE TAX and DEATH three things you can be assured of

      A PRAYER FOR SUNDAY ~
Change & Decay in all around I see
      O THOU who changes NOT
      Abide with me ~ AMEN

Thanks for your comment ANDREW pleased you liked the PRESENTATION ! For those who are twice our age (70+) the change must seem even sadder ! No more WOOLWORTHS ~ BHS and even M & S and Boots (God forbid) are feeling the PINCH & downsizing. Our Parents thought the HIGH STREET and these Stores would even be in HEAVEN ~ C*est la Vie & Dass ist Leben !

      Everyhing Changes & Everything Adapts
but usually in the 21st C ~ for the worst !

      Blessings & Stability
Yours as always ANGELA & BRIAN 🧡🧡🧡🧡

        You mustn't think like that
Things are so much better now
The world is more open people are more tolerant around the world
        Women have the vote (Literally)
It's not perfect ... it never will be but it's better for more people
        The world's NEVER been safe
Mars bars were not bigger - we were smaller
We never trusted politicians - hell we still don't trust the microwave but at least we have warm plates for our toast on cold mornings
People are the change we just need to make dhange good

Have a great weekend 😉 Today I'm Mr Positive

A fine write B&A. Not M&S for me. 4 pints of milk was 40p more than some other stores!

          OOPS ONCE AGAIN STEVE ~ we have replied with a comment ~ please check ~ A & B 🧡🧡

        • ANGELA & BRIAN

Thanks for commenting UNCLE STEVE ! You have hit one nail on the HEAD ! Even Older People (DONT MENTION ZE VAR !) turn their backs on M & S (who kept our ladies in decent Directoire Knickers through the last Century) und flock mit Herr Flick aus Den BRUDERS ALDI und LIDDEL fur der cheaper MILSCH ! Deushland Uber Alles ! Churchill would turn in HIS GRAVE and ADOLF would smile in HIS BUNKER ! In todays INSTANT SOCIETY we all want EVERTHING ~ Cheaper ~ Quicker & brought to our DOOR. I guess our GENERATION (30 to 50) are the worst OFFENERS ! We shop at the COOP because we are Socialists and love the DIVVY ~ we even have a COOP Funeral Plan ~ AMEN !

Blessings & much JOY fer DU und Deiner Hundt FIDO !
Love in the Spirit ANGELA und BRIAN 🧡🧡🧡🧡 + 🧡

Ohh I dunno A&B. Some stores I never touch, cos too expensive. And - couldn't understand why the 99p shop closed, but not the £1 shop, where it's far more expensive. Why, it was a penny extra each time! Me middle name is Scrooge. Are M&S fogies? I saw a prog once, which said they are.

I still go the high street at least once a week to go to a local butcher, and my veg I get from a farm shop. So not all is lost - yet.
