Of those we lose
I almost do not want the pain to end
For if it ends you will have left for good
It keeps you close and keeps you here
Just an ember of you burning in my heart
I think of you often at the strangest times
And yes, I see you in the crowded street
You helped make me someone I can’t undo
I hope I pass on my making like you...

Good write Andrew. But you want the pain of my singing to end, yes? You won't miss it!
I think we pass on by example that which was passed to us by example. Some of us were given a bad example which they did not wish to pass on and took steps to ensure loved ones did not see.
Its heartwarming to read your words.
That pain within us may end but we know that they will not have left as they will always be with us.
A heart-touching read Andrew with the pain of loss so tellingly written - - - one to keep for me is this gentle lament. Thank you for posting it.
Hi Charles,
Thanks for your insightful and good write.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of my Mother's death.
I have moved on but I know she watches over me I feel at times her loss on days such.as Mother's Day.
