Reality

Just Another Person :)

Why is it that we all have to boast,

But ignore the ones we love the most?

Why is it that we all act tough,

But will cry at the simplest stuff?

Why is it that we love the ones that aren’t there,

But disrespect the ones that love and care?

There’s a mask we put on at the start of the race,

That we wear to cover up and hide our face.

We all like to pretend we are happy with ourselves,

When really we feel like we’re on the lower shelves.

We love to pretend that we don’t care,

When really we’re upset that they aren’t there.

The society we live with is plastic and fake,

We don’t realise the change we can make.

A sad viewpoint to admit to. Poets, being mostly people quite quite capable of expressing their feelings would largely disagree with the viewpoint expressed here i feel.
However, hopefully you are just teasing us.
Although i cannot share the viewpoint expressed, your piece is undoubtedly well composed and well written.
A strange way to say welcome perhaps, but welcome you most definitely are.

I agree with d a, the poets on hear do share their true feelings, being poets it is the way they are.
A good write though and welcome to MPS.
