Tune: Old Yeavering
('Like a mighty river flowing')
*******
O Lord, whate'er in life our age
Abide with us, leave us no stage
Your presence may we know ever
Help us, forsake us never
By your Spirit you are dwelling
In believers hearts, tongues telling
Young or old, child, father, mother
Uncle, aunt, sister, brother
Come renew us inward daily
Whate'er our outward state maybe
Life of God, the Spirit's Person
Be seen clearly through each one
Not for our own self-life leading
Will be only to deceiving
Of ourselves, others, and you Lord
But guide with your living word
Help us Him not to resist, though
He as an unseen wind does blow
Lead us to follow in His flow
So more in you we shall grow
Work in each life, your salvation
Come with hope to every nation
Spirit eternal, we here pray
Show us more of Christ each day

In my mirror today i saw your title - an "ageing avocado".
and i contemplated one of your lines 'so more in you we shall grow'.
Doh! Is it me - the avocado?! And Paraclete in some of my poems is not related to a parakeet! lol.
Good one Orchi.
Thanks Gold.
