TRIBUTE TO SOUND

Thomas J. Dooley

Music is a tribute to sound
From the whine of an electric guitar
Piercing through to your inner ear
To the soft sound of a violin
Played with emotion.........
It can Pearce your heart

The voice is a tribute to music
The soprano, the base
The tenor, the alto
And falsetto
With the right word
The story of music can be told

Music can touch the soul
With someone special
Or all alone
Pictures with sound
Feeling with every note

When I see the moon
I think of Michael Jackson
Insight, but out of reach

When I hear a screeching guitar riff
I think of Prince
I have to have more of this

When I smell coffee
I think of the Ink Spots
All that Java Jive

When I see a painting
I think of Nat
He is Unforgettable

When I see tap-shoes
I think of Sam
The only Candyman

When I think of opera
I think of Carmen
When I think of Carmen
I see only Lori Mirabal
That is all
