Day Dreams

wqzu

I had a dream.
We bought the house
and it’s ours. We dance,
our eyes lock together as perfectly
as our fingers do.
Your eyes silently pour your soul out to me
and mine do the same.
They look like smoke,
turning and twisting in time with the music
moving in and out of each other's trails
exploring each other
as we did.
The music gets louder, and with it
the movement of our two souls becomes more enthusiastic,
more daring,
more passionate,
more like there aren’t two souls at all but instead one because without the other it feels as though
something is missing,
something’s not right.
One does not just want the other,
it needs it more than air,
more than water,
more than the desire to be able to be okay by its own.

The smoke rises
and we dance on
and together we smile, as we realise
that no room can ever hold us.
