Tears And Joys

Tune: Dominus Regit Me

('The King of love my Shepherd is')

Psalm 126

********

When the LORD the captivity

Of Zion, His people, [did] free

We were like those who dream, for He

Did come to redeem us, see

Then was our mouth with laughter filled

His presence us restored, healed

And or tongue was filled with singing

Renewing of joy He did bring

Then heathen said, The LORD has done

Great things unto them, each one

Yes, the LORD has for us great things

Done, each soul joins, to Him sings

And we are glad, O LORD do turn

us again, we of you learn

As stream in the south may we flow

And in your gifts and graces grow

They that sow in tears, they in joy

Shall reap, their labours employ

They who go forth weeping, sowing

Seeds, harvest bring rejoicing

Good write Orchi. I too sow in tears but the ground is totally infertile.

Thanks Gold. I hope and pray that seed falls on fertile/good ground - bringing in another parable there!

I like this fantasy stuff, are you competing with my Elspenore?

      • orchidee

Erm, dunno! I mark it as 'spiritual' not 'fantasy'. So.…..

I like the idea of a mouth filled with laughter
although it leaves my belly empty... N
