HEAT.

Fay Slimm.

HEAT.

The sun in lemony vapours
of morning dilates
pale in dawn's haze.

Beaks of small birds
sip mossy-stone dew pure as milk
while June's day stirs.

Sky's bubble-shine
wraps summer round rooted thrust
as weed vies with vine.

Silky gossamer
lies on wet grass which candled air
dries with a promise.

Sounds of waking
appear as ferns droop with unfurl
for summer's heat waits.
