Tune: Franconia
('Blest are the pure in heart')
Psalm 128
*******
Blessed they that the LORD fear
And do hold His name dear
They that walk in His ways, they shall
Trust in Him and fare well
They shall eat of labour
Of their hands, each hour
That they did work, and happy be
They in all good things, see
Your wife as fruitful vine
Shall be, blessings divine
In your house there, and your children
Be as olive plants then
A true happy household
This shall sure be, behold
So shall they be that the LORD fear
And do hold His name dear
The LORD from Zion shall
Bless you, and all shall tell
Of His goodness, and you shall see
Jerusalem's good, free
Yes, your children's children
Next generations then
You shall see, for on Israel
Shall be peace, all be well

Good one Orchi.
Thanks Gold.
I can't get past the first line here..... so your religion is built upon fear.
No wonder a lot of christians are AFRAID to ask meaningful questions and refuse to accept the usual meaningless answers the churches employees come up with.
AREN'T THEY ALL
The main comment in my book "Forces of Creation - Scriptures"
Thanks Dusk. In some places, as here, 'fear' means 'reverent fear, or awe, or respect'.
That is a typical christian reaction Orchidee. I expect that as a child you were made to fear and because you know that in itself is disgusting, you now find yourself having to make excuses for it.
Wake up and smell the coffee.
Nooo, it's the truth. 'Fear' in the Bible does not always mean 'terror'. It's reverence, awe, respect, etc.
I must have smelt the coffee then.
Apologies that I did not explain 'fear' earlier. I've just got into the mind-set of it being an 'awe' type of fear, which it is in this poem.
You invoke HIM with your words
Thanks Suresh.
