Her heart had frozen beneath
With eyes now glazed he wondered
Would she glance his way
And yet he looked with intent
Hoping she would notice
He could see possibilities
His chest fluttered
Like the light, the warmth
In a fireplace burning through
Her head turned, she smiled
In that moment when everything begins
His world was turning
Exploding with life
An ocean beneath him
And just as steady as the sea
The world stopped
Paused
And nothing else mattered
