A Conversation with Self
05/23/2019

....on my way to the Pearly Gates

Any moment now
Tick tock
Boy I'm jumpy
Nervous!
Weird thoughts
rummaging
Should I smile
Stand straight
Rumpled clothes
Should have ironed
Too late
Who cares
I do
Now!

Up elevator or down
If I could have done things differently
You want to go thru these issues now
What a trickster
There's no one else
No one to row the boat -
to take me to the judgement hall
What? No lynching horde to filet my bones
Am I to be the judge and jury as well

Naked are my deeds
Fear has me in its vice

A fine write Suresh, yet as I say 'fear' does not always mean terror. It can mean awe and reverent fear.
Meanwhile _ I was having convo with self. Self got bored and cleared off to the shops! lol.

Sometimes it's good to take a break, refresh.
Up for a cup of tea and some scones

There you go Suresh.... that christian 'fear' instilled in you as a child. Difficult to remove all its traces once one has been virtually brainwashed into christianity as a mere child ... as indeed i was.

By the way, buddhists (there's quite a few of them about) don't have a deity to be fearful of.

There is so much more positive energy from a spiritual faith than anything based upon fear can offer.

Yes, fear is instilled, and once a victim, very difficult to dispel.
        Fear usually depicted as demons.
I could never comprehend why God should be feared, and the Wrath of God, these are not benevolent terms.
The Old Testament is full of annihilations, and do overs and rewards for subservience and so on and on, and sixty percent to the world population follows it. OHHH Well, C'est La Vie

Glad to see you boys discussing God here and the scrupulous sentiments that sent Luther over the edge! I like this poem!

Kreeft tells us that Buddhism is watered down Hinduism, Dusk: “a Hinduism without Atman or Brahman: a tat tvam asi without either tat or tvam.” The definitive “conversation with self” bro.

But wait, Dusk, if we play “knock, knock” with ourselves and ask “Who’s there?” we should get the answer: “Nobody.” (Kreeft on Buddhism).

It does not matter how you look or what you have done as long as you have done your best in life in death your Spirit will show you the right way.

If only it were true, Goldfinch - but we see the “spirit of evil” instead, everywhere - so much so that no reasonable person can deny it’s existence. This spirit of evil leads millions, including you and I, in the wrong direction. Christ desired and started a Church, and instituted a hierarchy and succession of imperfect men for the salient reason that we can throw ourselves unto it when all seems lost, something real and physical, imperfect as it is, an ugly boat but a seaworthy one, and once on-board, we may then choose to allow Him to guide us back home.
