The Pain of Leaving

seeker123

I think I’ve found you

Have you found me too?

If I knocked on your door

Would you look through the glass

Before opening?

Or would you turn the knob

Without hesitating?

When you see my face

Will you smile?

As if knowing all along

That I’d be coming,

And that you wanted me too.

Or would a shadow of doubt shade

Your green eyes;

A cloud over misty mountains,

Expecting to see a different face

A girl with shorter hair

Less wild

But both curled;

So your fingers can get caught

Never able to escape;

Forever ensnared.

You chose the wrong trap.

With me I don’t think you’d feel,

The pain of leaving.
