PAINTED LADIES.

Fay Slimm.

Painted Ladies.

Sharing the migration of Painted Ladies

in but a few words seems

near to being a mission impossible.

Nobody knows how a butterfly remains

airborne as nothing at all

seems to keep afloat its fragile body.

Yet with flicker of delicate know-how

the insect defies predictions

in two thousand miles of endurance.

Gripping the ether mindfully power

skilled wings twist in gossamer

fight against odds on naught but dew.

Food quest assists the swirl and dip

of diaphanous combat before

winds and wet of journey's exposure.

Yet on sensing fresh pasture glisten

of shimmering velvet colours

new ground in victory's yearly show.

Transparency blown in by morning's

breeze lands by droves toward

feed leaving me butterfly-overawed.

  • ANGELA & BRIAN

BRIAN HERE ~ Thanks Fay for an intersting Poem on the *Miracle of Butterfly Migration* ANGELA & I have both studied Zoology and we are amazed at the ability of small birds & butterflies to migrate huge distances during migration ! They are driven by HOPE and an innate Promise of BETTER LAND ! God designed & created them to survive the ordeal !
We too as HUMANS are also driven by HOPE and the promise of a BETTER LAND ~ AMEN !

    Blessings & Peace & Love
    Yours BRIAN & ANGELA 🧡🧡🧡🧡

Painted ladies are amazing creatures in our wonderful world. That world depicted brilliantly in the picture.

There you have the Painted Ladies, here we have the Monarch Butterflies. By weight they weigh less than a feather, yet they journey thousands of miles to keep their genes alive. A poetic remembrance

  • Neville

you paint an amazing picture of these truly amazing creatures and you seem to do it with consummate ease dear Fay....... Neville
