Castaway

Jurnee

my feelings change like the weather

and i refuse to be tethered

the rain clouds on the horizon

will foreshadow where i’ve been

ocean breeze growing gusty

grab a coat, go in hiding

rushing water, it waves on by

lay a’top glass sea and paint the sky

a silver lining meets my eye

  • Comment from author about the poem: a shipwreck led me to an island in the middle of the sea that gave me a 360 perspective of the horizon. whenever i want to feel human and not so alone on that island, i leave the land and teach myself how to float, so i can look up at the sky and watch for where the sun shines behind the clouds, to feel one with the water which imprisons me. to remain fluid, and reflect the light as it does.

HA CATALYST : ANGELA HERE : Thanks for your First Poem and Comment - which is a Poem in itself ! Floating in the Sea does give one a 360 perspective on life & love !
I love the structure of your Poem. NINE well separated lines - each replete with Rhyme & Rhythm and each with a MESSAGE which flow into each other !
In my experience my Feelings are never static but fluid - and I never want to be (unwillingly) tied down ! I want to be FREE ! Floating in the sea we can choose the best horizon - and consequently make the best choices ! There is ALWAYS a CLOUD (c'est la vie ) BUT (as you say in your final line !)) there is ALWAYS a SILVER LINING - That is my experience too !
Thanks for sharing - your will find MPS a very interactive site. We read & comment on each other POEMS ~ OK.

I hope I grasped the meaning of your Poem - more please
I share this site with BRIAN my Fiancee :
