THE OLD PIANO TUNER ~ BRIAN & ANGELA ~ FIVE TUNED QUATRAINS !

ANGELA & BRIAN

A PIANO IS IN EFFECT ~ A HARP WITH 88 STRINGS ~ WITH HAMMERS !

THE VIDEO IS A COMPOSITION USING ALL 88 NOTES TO CHECK TUNING !

PIANO TUNERS are a dying Breed

Like Shoe Shiners and Infant Chimney Sweeps

people we always used to NEED

BUT now they*re gone ~ their passing no one weeps !

My Dad*s a Classical Pianist

We had a well tuned Baby Grand

Every Year the Old Piano Tuner came

His trip was just a One Night Stand !

He stripped our grand Piano ~ right down to the WIRE

To me it looked just like a HARP !

He played a slow jazz *Light My Fire*

And that some notes were a tad TOO SHARP !

He used his TUNING FORKS to test each String

A ~ B flat ~ B then middle C

He tweeked each string ~ to make them sing

I was a *Magic Mystery Tour* in perfect harmony !

ANGELA has Piano in her PAPAS house

It came from Spain ~ Its rather flat in TONE

She usually plays the KEYBOARD ~ which always stays in tune !

But I*ll get her old Piano tuned ~ ready ofr when She*s HOME !

Thanks for tuning in ~ comments welcome ~ Love A & B 🧡🧡🧡

Do you remember PIANO TUNERS ?  Perhaps you still have one ?

Tuning a PIANO is a Black Art ~ difficult to do oneself ! People

now have a keyboard which never loses its tone ~ but compared

with a good Piano they all sound as tinny as a penny whistle !

A fine write B&A. An organist/pianist at one church shows off a bit I think - always seems to play a very long piece at the end of the service.

THNAKS FOR COMMENTING UNCLE STEVE ~ Pleased you enjoyed it ! We have an OGANIST like that egotistic ! When the YOUTH GROUP are playing (Guitars ~ Keyboards ~ Drums etc) she sits & sulks and wont even sing ! We say *God has his Dear Ones and His Queer Ones !* (Im not talking LGBT !). Ive now posted the piece of Piano Music sounds like Les Dawson at his best !

Blessings & Joy Jumping for YOU & SNOOPY

Ooh some organists and pianists (a minority?) can be prima donnas. They put it down to 'artistic temperament'. Or do some feel threatened, seeing as 'the organ is not the only instrument played these days'? But that's all they had in 1066. lol.

The last stringed piano we had was a tone flat on all strings, the piano tuner said that if he tightened them all to the correct tone it might not do the piano any good. We didn’t mind as Joyce played clarinet and I payed trumpet and clarinet, both were b flat instruments so we had no need to transpose the music.

I can believe that UNCLE ANDY ! Lots of *House Pianos* are a little FLAT universally ! When we had *House Sessions* I often had to tune my GUITAR down a tad ! For our impromptu Jazz sessions the house Rules were:

          1. All the instruments had to be in tune
          2. When we played we all had to be in KEY
          3. When we played we all had to be in CHORD !

I had trouble with one GUY who refused to change the tuning on his Guitar because it was tuned to the Piano in his Church ! I could not convince him so I always brough an extra Guitar so he could *sit in* without causing cacophany !
I value that at School we were tutored *theoretically* in the principles of Classical Music & the Orchestra !

Blessings & Peace & Joy to YOU & JOYCE
Love as always ANGELA & BRIAN 🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡

I have had similar problems with singers who have perfect pitch and read the notes on the music but if the key is changed up or down for any reason they create mayhem saying this is just not right.
I had a session with John Bell and there was one of these there as well we sometimes did not sing in the written key and they just could not work out what to do as the notes on the page were not the ones we were singing.
