Two Souls

Chagrined

The depths of the ocean know nothing of my heart

The sands of the desert will not release any coaxed secrets for eternity

Deep and darkened places of the forest will always stay silent as long as there is no one to hear the echoes of days long past

The shadows that chase away the heat of the day on the mortared walls will search endlessly, but never dwell as one with the light

Two souls separated by miles, but longing for the other's embrace can only imagine

His heart dying in decay is only replenished by her dark and enchanted words spoken from across the sea

Her soul and mind feed and nurture the only part of him she will ever join with

The sun careens across the sky in fast motion day after day.  The lines of our faces etch deeper as the miracle and sad reality of existence draws closer

The only thing that truly matters is that we loved
