As I walked by My River I saw him,
I saw this man with his dogs.
Two of them,
A lead in each hand
Pulling his arms apart.
As we passed I said to him,
“You are going to need longer arms”
He smiled and replied,
“Every morning I get crucified!”

- Comment from author about the poem: One of my favourite questions is "Who sang 'I talk to the trees' in the film 'Paint your Wagon'" not many know the answer - well you do now.

A fine write Gold.
Thanks Orchi.
I wonder how spiritually he meant that. The biblical act before re-birth so we were taught. Strolling by your river must be something similar for you. Or at least a bathing of your soul in the spirit of the continuum.
Thank you d a, I do like that last sentence of your "a bathing of your soul in the spirit of the continuum." That sounds like the way I am with My River - thank you.
Andy,
Thank you for the treat!.
I didn’t know he could sing.
A man of many talents!
I enjoyed your poem!
My love to Joyce and to you!
~Laura~
Thank you Laura, yes he is a man of many talents.
Andy.
Thanks UNCLE ANDY ~ We love it when Actors ~ like Clint ~ who have the courage to acctually sing a CLASSIC ! He sounded much better than ORCHII ~ Thanks for sharing I'll put that in as a Q in my next Seniors Quiz !
Thanks for the humour in the Poem (mines a bit melancholic today on LITTERBU**AS !). Death by DOPPELHUNDT sounded a bit like the old fashioned WRACK ~ which Orchii & Yourself would of cousre be familliar with ~ the *Old two-way Stretch !*
Blessings and Inner Peace for You & Joyce
Love ANGELA & BRIAN 🧡💙🧡💙🧡
WE will be off-line for a few days !
Thank you A and B, that wrack still did not stop Orchi from spilling the ink on the Magna Carter in 1214, that’s why it didn’t get signed until 1215 as the monks had to write it out again.
When I was a Chaplain for the Sea Cadets on one occasion at a fund raising afternoon I was in the wrack having wet sponges thrown at me.
another great observation and get this, I never knew that...... cheers GF60.... the big man got a decent voice dont he........ N
Thanks Neville.
Yes he has a decent voice.
No that's a groundhog day I would duck...
Thanks Andy
No that’s a Groundhog Day I would duck...
Well - fancy Clint singing - something learned today Andy and the words remind us that talking to nature is a spiritual act that gives us a kind of peace.......... lovely read and thanks for the video too.
Thank you Fay, talking with nature is wonderful.
Well there's always something else to know.
Life would be boring if there were not.
