Tune: All Saints

('Who are these like stars appearing?')

Romans 4 v.7-8 and 5 v.1-2

*********

Gathering here of your people

You do call us, one and all

We draw near now, you our Saviour

Let each life, each spirit stir

To worship you, you the Lord

You are 'er the living Word

Grant us vision, show us your way

For each one through every day

Light and love and celebration

All join in from each nation

And to serve you, know your will

Here to sense your presence still

Blessed are they whose sins by you be

Forgiven, redeemed, and free

And their sins are covered over

By Christ the Lamb's Passover

Blessed they whom the Lord will not

Impute sin, happy their lot

It is by faith, we justified

We have peace with God, confide

In Christ's offering on the cross

Suffered to redeem our loss

Through Him the way is accessed

By faith into grace, we blessed

Odd how your god feels the need to call out for worshipers yet so many acknowledge a god who is far less needy. Mind you, not all gods have paid hangers-on milking their flock for as much money as they can get (and then plead poverty for the church roof fund).
Persistence is the key to keep it up their noble robbery.

Thanks dusk. I was reading this - Why does God want glory and worship? Yet we are is creature and He is our Creator. And nothing selfish in His perfection, for wanting glory for Himself.
One church seemed to make, or raise, a million pounds, literally. They sought for another million. Dunno what they've done with it. A building due to be re-built has not been touched.

The god you worship isn't my creator orchidee. There are more non christian souls upon this planet than there are christians so dont go claiming he is their creator either. You insult all non christian when you do that. You may be thinking 'he' (sexist value) is perfection but most do not.

Do I detect a slight religious flavour herein.........

You have faith & despite everything, I respect that..... Neville

            • orchidee

Thanks Neville. Yes. I prefer 'spiritual' to 'religion'. Yet Christianity is a religion. Can you see me now? I'm digging this hole, and it could get deeper, with me in it, as they say!

              • Neville

I would agree, I prefer the term spiritual to religious ..... remember, once a hole has been dug, it must remain a hole, until it is filled....... Neville

A celebratory piece as tribute to unselfish love......... a message to think on dear Orchi.
