A Silent Refrain

Neville

A Silent Refrain

It would be so

Very easy to

Just let go and fall

In love with her

It would be

Far harder to refrain

Come tell me what

You know my darling

Of all those things

We do call

Love and pain

My world is full of them

How very cat like

Of you Kitten

Come teach me of poverty

And hard times romantic

Methinks you do not need teaching. However a refresher course can be so invigorating.

There's nothing like a good purr in poetry and you stroked it out perfectly. Good work.

Timing is so critical to a relationship. Too soon or too late can bring disaster. Some fall at first sight, others only after years of being in contact. I've seen successful marriages after many years together and some after only weeks.
Do the words "feline" and "felon" derive from the same root? What do "Cats" know of poverty and hard times? Seems they live in someone's lap of luxury. The urge is irresistable, the restraint torturous. There is no answer to this age old quandary. Just go with the flow. Nice poem. Made me think.- Phil A.

Some things are better left unlearned, but heartache is a pseudonym for romance, and maybe poverty and hard times too.

Good emotive write Neville, to go forward in love or to refrain is a question that we have all probably asked at some point in our lives - is there an answer?

                          • Neville

Not a single straightforward answer, that's for sure.... thank you sir for visiting these words and your encouraging comment and relevant question..... Neville
