FRIEND ~ When you sit or stray or take your ease
On Moor or fell or under Spreading Trees !
Pray ~ leave no traces of your wayside meal .......
No plastic bottles - bags or scattered orange peel !
No morning papers littered on the grass
Other may view these with distaste and pass !
And don*t let others say this to your shame
That all was BEAUTY HERE until YOU came !

I share your sentiments 100%. I cannot understand how folk can be so utterly disrespectful of our beautiful planet.

Thanks for caring *DA* pleased you appreciated the Message. Im biaised because I was born in Lancashire ~ so I think the Lake District is the most beautiful place on Earth ! Angela agrees with me. Our philosophy (litterwise) is the same as yours. When we visit a picnic site (like the one pictured) we always have a Black Bag and spend on hour removing everyones lousy litter. Because the majority of people are still not green the future of Planet Earth is now in real jepardy ! WE haven't got any kids yet (married in 2020 !) but we sometimes wonder what we would be letting them in for ? They would still be alive (touch wood) in 2100 when the Balloon (Planet Earth) really will have gone UP UP UP ! I (BRIAN) will only be 100 (like todays temerature in Essex) in 2083 so I might live to see the worst !

This is a funny, and yet very true piece. I really like the title. Unfortunately, I wish my neighborhood could read your poem. Fortunately, the city is trying to clean it up.

To all those that leave their signature trash, as if marking their territory, I say that they should be forced to live in city dumps to realize what impact they leave on all of us.

I've been in cities like NYC where it is dirty and littered, but we don't deal with that in my little town. I feel sorry for people who have to deal with that!
