Conclusions.

Goldfinch60

She sat at the gate every day

Watching people coming in

And out of the town.

A stranger arrived early one evening

Went up to her and said,

“I have travelled far

I need to rest,

What are the people like in this town?”

She responded

“ From where did you come?”

“From a town called Netherly,

The people in there are awful.

They will not help you,

They never smile,

Just go their own way,

Not caring for others at all!”

“Well I think that you will find

That those in this town

Will be much the same”.

Another stranger arrived

Went up to her and said,

“I have travelled far

I need to rest,

What are the people like in this town?”

She responded

“ From where did you come?”

“From a town called Netherly,

The people in there are wonderful.

They will always offer help,

They are always smiling,

They go out of their way

To care for others.”

“Well I think that you will find

That those in this town

Will be much the same.”

Thanks Orchi. We surely do, I found them fine but you struggled - I did say not to sing!

I discovered (or re-discovered) a Hastings Close in our town, tucked away in a corner.

Thank you Neville, yes if we were all the same the world would be a boring place.

            true enough

Another Goldfinch pearl of wisdom imparted here..... you should include it within a book of some of your works entitled "Teachings from my river"

Lateef was one of the first jazz musicians i listened to. He has traversed a huge music spectrum. Try your ears on this one :-
