To Know Christ Is To Know God

orchidee

Tune: Rosefield

('Bread of heaven, on thee we feed')

Colossians 1 v.26 - 2 v.10 parts

*********

Hidden truth, the mystery

Hid from ages, but now see

'Tis revealed, to us is shown

In our days it is made known

To believers manifest

In the gospel they are blest

God reveals this mystery

'Tis Christ in us, now we see

By His Spirit residing

Hope of glory, He dwelling

In all who have sure believed

Have as Saviour Him received

In Christ are hid all treasures

Of wisdom, He us assures

And [all treasures of] knowledge, we Him can know

The Spirit Christ does us show

No need of extras man-made

Faith in Christ enough, firm, staid

In Christ dwells all the fullness

Of the Godhead, seen no less

In His person, and we be

Complete in Him, entirely

He the head o'er everything

Lord of all, to Him we sing

Who you kidding Orchidee. Why do you keep publishing all this christian stuff. Is your faith so weak that you need to keep writing more of it? Who are you trying to reassure..... there is no flock reading you here. Very unconvincing.

No, I'm not writing keep my head (or my faith) above water, as it were. Maybe do as some do - comment on the style of the poem, etc, without going into the Christian/religious detail. Well, some are reading it!

I really believe in the title and that Christ dwells in all fullness. Thanks for sharing this Orchi.
