Society

British tea

You use drugs as an excuse to hide the pain,

Because the world that we live in just isn't the same.

Society will put you down,

But your not someone who can boss aroud.

They will try to make you 'straight' or accept your own gender,

But no-one can hide themselves and become a pretender.

So 'normal' people wonder why people slip into the deep end,

It's because society won't help people who need a friend.

A point well made about 'normal' society and it's apparent narrow mindedness. Hopefully our younger generation will will create a far more liberal society. However there is a rise in right wing tendencies which appear to be headed in the opposite direction.

Such a situation as you describe has led to the growth of sub-cultures which sadly fall prey to the criminal fraternity which can never have a good outcome.

Your first entry here on MPS is much welcomed by me and i hope to see much more. I hope you provoke much comment today.

This site works best if you comment on other poets pieces, i'd welcome any comments.

Brilliantly done, first biscuit poetry and now you. This place is becoming more wonderful by the minute. Great show!

Very good write, many people are too self centred to help others, it is a shame as there are still many people who will help anybody.
      Welcome to MPS.
