THE SENSE O' TOUCH ~ ANGELA & BRIAN ~ A 3 5 1 5 Acoustic Sonnet

ANGELA & BRIAN

THE SENSE OF TOUCH ~ IS THE FIRST SENSE WE EXPERIENCE WHEN WE ARE BORN

THE  SENSE OF TOUCH ~ SOMETHING TAKEN FOR GRANTED ?

Hearing ~ Seeing ~ Scenting ~ regarded as .......

Essential to survive and enjoy Life !

SENSE OF TOUCH ~ is also essential ~ but

Especially to those ~ who have been born BLIND !

Naturally we feel that ~ Wool is Soft ~ and

Steel is Hard & Cold ~ and Water is Wet !

Every Substance sure has its own TEXTURE !

One learns and develops a SENSE OF TOUCH !

The Fingertips have many touch sensors

One*s first tingle of LOVE is holding hands

Understanding LOVE develops through KISSING

CARESSING ~ TOUCHING ~  Erogenous Zones

How we respond ~ the QUALITY OF LOVE !

What a gift is the sense of touch and so well captured in your extended description of its benefits and a big thank you for the video of a great number........... one of my faves. are the fabulous Righteous Brothers....

Thanks FAY for your kind comment ~ pleased you enjoyed it ! We agree with you ! The RB version of *Unchained Melody* is our fave too ~ perfect diction. The first time Angela & I touched we both got a an electric frisson and it was Dynamic not Static !

      Blessings & Peace & Love

A fine write B&A. You 'huggies'?! More folk should be. Some have emotional wounds, and don't like to be touched.
I thought of the 'chorus' 'When I feel the touch / Of your hand upon my life...'

      • ANGELA & BRIAN

Thanks for your perceptive comment UNCLE STEVE ! Yes ANGELA and I are *HUGGIES* but alas our Arms are not 11,500 miles long ! I have met those for who TOUCHING is VERBOTEN ~ SAD !
We too love the Chorus you have cited and we often sing it at Church ~ Slow and Acapello. Many People have never experienced *A Touch from the Lord* so (sadly) they dont understand the empathy of the Hymn !

Blessings & Joy to YOU & Howling Hound

Thanks B&A. Fido's singing is very 'touching' too. People are touched by him - in the sense of going a bit barmy! lol.

A most impressive poem dedicated to perhaps the one sense that is often taken for granted.. You have certainly done it proud and placed it squarely in the spotlight...... A great accompanying music clip too.....

ANGELA HERE (9am Saturday) - Thanks UNCLE ANDY ! In my role as a Masseuse MY Sense of Touch is very very important. I deal with Dementia Patients and they still have a sense of touch - does Joyce ? They love Me to hold their hand when Im explaining the need for exercise etc ! Holding (and squeezing) their hand enables them to comprehend me better - does that make sense ?

Blessings & Peace to You & Joyce

Hi Angela, yes Joyce does still have her sense of touch and it is very important to her, she holds my hand and those of the friends that she is coming to know in the Care Home. Thank you.
