The colours will fade
the light may dim
and sound
become a distant thing
but please oh please
let the pleasure
of her scent remain
for it takes me there
everytime

Deep breath.... Aahh........ yes you got it...
Pitched perfectly and poemed to perfection sir....... Neville
Guaranteed to take one back eh? High praise indeed Neville - uncertain that it's so deserving but was inspired by your write.
how very bloomin kind mate... I loved it regardless..
A fine write DA. Some scents just make me sneeze, or the scent irritates my eyes. Doh!
Always writing zingers my friend please keep them coming for I am always waiting to read them.
You're too kind sir.. but more will follow for sure.
One of the strongest senses for remembering the past is smell. May those memories always be with you.
I have heard its the essential sense for bringing back a memory...... like the first smell of cut grass brings back summer days and happy thoughts.
Our five senses are powerful when it comes to remembering someone or an event....great poem DA!
But a pong rules supreme when it comes to sparking a memory.... all perfumes smell differently on different ladies but occasionally.... aaaaah..... momentarily i'm close to a lover of yesteryear.
Yes you got the sense that always remains - - scent is the thing that never changes - the mind can remember a life-time ago when the same scent wafts into focus...... a first rate love poem D.A.
Thank you Fay. This time i was inspired by a poem Neville wrote. So rewarding reading the poems on mps to get the muse awake.
If you recall her often enough, the pleasure of her scent will never leave you.
So, go ahead and day dream
Oh im often away in a dream.... then the dog farts! Romanticism lost.
I love this so much. Beautiful writing âšī¸đ
I did wonder how you would see this one.... Our loves in this life are a blessing.... I always look back on the good regardless of whatever bad transpired....
Thank you for your compliment and I'm pleased you liked this,
You have an admirable attitude đ
I just checked in again.. and yes.. tis still as good as I remember..... N
Trust you to come sniffing around for seconds.....
