Living Dead

sylviasearcher

Eyes black out
Visions shout
A rope invites
Delivers just right

Already dead

Pretty profile draws blank
Where feelings sank
A brutal brick wall
A smashed face to appal

Already dead

Heart pumps black
Blood oozes out but never back
The sweet edge of a blade
Penetrates this masquerade

Already dead

Sleeping softly in my bed
Already dead
Already dead

Watching dancers end the dread
Already dead
Already dead

Shhh! On waking. Visions unsaid
Already dead
Already dead

No need in mourning tears to shed
Still breathing
Still beating
Still walking
Still waking
But oh so long past
Living

Dead

A great write Sylvia - I don't quite know why but it's reminded me of a reggae song I used to listen to in about 1960. All I can remember are the lines:

    Back to back
    belly to belly
    i don't give a damn
    I'm done dead already.

Must try and look it up.

Jumbie Jamboree - sounds more like Blue Beat - not the version I recall but fairly close: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vMrtyp9WudU

          this is very dark indeed..

it feels like there may be sunshine behind those drawn curtains.... ........ ..... maybe

Put out the light? And then put out the light?
