In my room there is a spider, I named him Fred,
He watches over me every night when I’m in bed,
He does his job well and keeps all the flys away,
Keeps them from bothering me so that I can enjoy my day,
He doesn’t ask for much, just a cozy little corner,
If one day he dies I think I’m gonna mourn him,
I have arachnophobia so at first I was afraid,
But he slowly grew on me every single day,
This might be weird but I’d call him my greatest friend,
when I’m on my death bed I hope he’s still watching then.

May Fred watch over you forever PB. Good fun write.
I used to have an assistant at work who suffered from arachnophobia and she told me once that she was in her lounge at home and she saw a spider, she rushed out of the room closed the door and sealed the bottom of the door with cushions and then 'phoned her husband and made him come home from work to get the spider.
I can relate to her experience. I may not have arachnophobia but they freak me out enough for the term to fit.
A fine write Biscuit.
Just trying to brighten everyone’s day today!
Good old Fred
Nothing to be scared of
Great write
Fred is an exception to all other spiders. Only Fred though!
May Fred live a long time as protector and guardian to prove your condition of arachnophobia can be defeated - an engaging read Biscuit.
I really hope he does, my life would be lonely without his many eyes watching over me.
Hello PoeticBiscuit,
What a great write.
Wonderful!
As I read this I thought of the song Boris the Spider sung and written by the legendary late John Entwistle of The Who.
Keep writing
