Hemlock

sylviasearcher

Pretty white petals
Innocent intricacies
To the girl
Who plucked

Creative complexion
Intriguing melodies
To the one
Who looked

Inhale and taste
Drunk on haste
Softly lingers on lips
Like a lover’s lasting kiss

Appearances deceive
Reality is make believe
Love burns bleeds and paralyses
Poison permeates pretty disguises

Such sweet sorrow in these lines I sense a pain longing to end

I told her not to eat that plant - it's poisonous! (ooh. lol).

      • sylviasearcher

I used to always pick these. I never ate them...

A potent though gloomy look at what "love" does to some - -wonderfully alliterated throughout - thanks Sylvia for wording such pain so realistically.-

Ahh thank you Faye. Potent is exactly the feeling
