as pure as driven plastic ??
what is it we are doing to our planet?
how much more damage will be done
to this my great, great, great grandchildren's home?
so where we you and me start
to tear this suicide apart?
can just YOU and just ME
bring plastic madness to it's knees
I'm grown tired of excuses
those ubiquitous killer excuses
make your stand a LOUD noise
and never buy another plastic TOY
could it be that simple to make a start?
don't you know in your heart
that WE HAVE TO START SOMEWHERE
before humanity survives NOWHERE

- Comment from author about the poem: Been unexpectedly away in hossie a few days so not been able to log in. Whilst away i was disgusted to learn that particles of plastic are now found in snow. This really peed me off. Although I expressly mention humanity the same applies to all life upon this out home, our planet.

Even small changes if made by the many will shout the end to plastic invasion as does this thunder from your concerned corner my friend. With your poetic cry of complaint every step of the way..........
I am write with you on this one .. these words were crying out to be writ
Something serious needs to be done and soon....
Strong write d a, agree completely.
In the past, I equated humanity to be a cancerous cell, that destroys its host (planet earth and all living matter) and then moves on (space exploration) taking its deadly virus along, under the guise of progress..
It is most horrendous that there are non believers in power today, ( Trump and the Republican Party) hell bent on undoing even the little progress we were making in correcting our heinous actions.
This is a wonderful message and it has to start with each and every one of us...plastic water bottles, straws, EVERYTHING! Otherwise there is no hope for future generations. Thanks for writing and sharing!
A much needed message in today’s times. That last line perfectly sums it up. I really enjoyed this!
