Goodbye Little Friend

orchidee

Remembering 'Black Bob'

A poem one does not want to write

But sadly, little piggies -

That's them in my pic

Not giant hamsters or mutant rats!

They seem to go downhill fast

Only a couple of days ago

Having a run around

Eating, drinking, sleeping, living

Then suddenly they slow down

Often it's a sign the end is nigh

In a couple of days or less

Gone - before we even get to the vets sometimes

R.I.P. piggy

With your long-haired black coat

And cuddly nature

Goodbye, piggy number 4,763

Or it seems like it

Well, we've had piggies for 20 years at least

Thank you for all we've shared...........

Enjoy Animal Heaven!

  • ANGELA & BRIAN

THANKS UNCLE STEVE for a very sentimental write. The death of any Pet is a Tragedy especially for Children and often their first experience of the *Death of a Loved One* ! We had Guinea Pigs when we were Children ~ they were not expensive & they were easy to rear and handle ! Also neighbours would always feed & keep them clean if we were on Holiday. No espensive Kennel Bills. We could observe the breeding Cycle and also give them a decent burial (shoe box) if they died ! The Cochon d'Inde gave us much pleasure and many happy memories ! We also had them @ School and we had to be MINDERS during the Holidays on a rota. Children can learn much about Life & Love by keeing Guinea Pigs ~ AMEN. I (BRIAN) had several B Pigs as pets when I was a Child.

Blessings to You & Piggies & Fido
    Love BRIAN & ANGELA πŸ’™πŸ§‘πŸ’™πŸ§‘πŸ’™πŸŽ‰

Thanks B&A. The thing is, the other male piggy may have to wait a week, for a new companion. I've only found female ones available so far, and we have two of them already. Piggy did not get buried in a Gucci shoe box (ask Angela!).

Damn Steve. First I've seen a poem from you that wasn't about your faith. Sucks that it had to be about you losing a friend, but I hope you're alright and I appreciate that I came to read this today. Best regards my friend.

Thanks Nicholas. Erm, the friend is the piggy! Did you gather that much?

a sad tale indeed.. and no pun intended... some times writing about a hurt or a loss helps in the healing process..... a deviation from the norm and regrettably enjoyed..... Neville
