I look up my hill,
My hill of life,
The top is still ahead of me.
I look back
And there is so much below me.
I sit and stare back,
Stare back at my life.
There at the bottom
I can just see the start,
The start of my climb.
The fun of childhood.
So free and so innocent.
Climbing through school days
With hardly a stumble.
Into work days that lasted,
Lasted for more than half,
More than half the climb
To where I am now.
The joys in my life,
The woman of my love
So wonderfully in love with her,
And still am.
We will go on forever,
Our love getting ever stronger.
The joy of children,
Then the wonder of grandchildren.
The beauty of nature
Always part of my soul.
Music never lost in my life,
So much music,
So little time.
These words that come to me,
Come to me to keep me sane.
As my climb is nearly over
My path below has been filled with love,
And that love will always be with me
As I climb towards the top,
The top of my life.

Thank you Neville, most kind.
That's no Hill Andy
You've lived a mountain
A mountain to be proud of
So kind Andrew, much appreciated.

Life is special, appreciated every moment.
A life well lived is worthy of such a poetic declaration dear Andy - keep climbing my friend and hoping your top will not reached for a long while yet.................. a beautiful read.
Thank you Fay. It is OK I still cannot see the top.
A fine write Gold. Pity it started me off singing: 'Ohhh, climb every mountain...!' lol.
Thank you Orchi, keep climbing.
And a prize awarded before the climb to the summit is worn well by you sir - that of wisdom. Tis not an old fool by the river of life but a man who knows his measure.
So kind d a, wisdom can come with experience - experience of life.
Andy,
It is a beautiful thing to be able to see the start of your climb to where you are now with love and tenderness and to be blessed to have ‘been filled with love’!
A wonderful read!
My love to Joyce and to you!
~Laura~
Thank you Laura. I have been so fortunate in my life and need to show others.
