blot on the page

dusk arising

There's a blot on the page, where I tried to write
to tell you just whats on my mind
but i got all choked up, and the hurt came out
started falling down from my eyes
how can a little word like sorry say how ashamed i feel inside
or the three little words i love you tell of all the times i cried

when i call you up my pride won't let me show
what i really ought to say out loud
ask you how ya been and i'm worrying
is some other guy feeling so proud
you sound so cold on my telephone my fire gets all put out
inside i know i'm really dying when we start to holler and shout

can it be i'm wrong theres no chance that we
could now ever really get along
what we had is done, no blood from a stone
tread a separate path from now on
but why do i feel such hurting wondering are you there feeling it too
i think i'll write it all down in a letter and send it with my heart for you

but there's a blot on the page  where i tried to write
to tell you just whats on my mind
yes i got all choked up and the hurt came out
started falling down from my eyes
how can a little word like sorry say how ashamed i feel inside
or three little words i love you tell of all the times i cried

  • ANGELA & BRIAN

Great Song DA ~ Thanks for sharing ! I (BRIAN) know from experience that SORRY is the hardest word. Im 35 now and very very happy with ANGELA (and She with Me !) and in 7 months we will be married ! However over the last 20 Years in the *Journey Though Love* I have several times lived your lovely (but sad) song. I discovered (even as a Teen) that when you have hurt (unwitingly ?) the *One you Love* saying *I LOVE YOU* just adds insult to injury ~ and you have to move on ! I should have been *A Pa de Deux* by now ~ but C'est la Vie ! Thanks for sharing very reflective !

    Blessings & Peace
    Yours BRIAN & ANGELA

Yes, wisdom etc comes with experience and that includes a lot of pain along the road. However this was a song about a fictional situation though i did have a letter once from an ex complete with tear drop smeared text.
I can imagine that for you two, the closer the big day gets, the inclination to jump up and down on the spot in sheer happiness and anticipation grows stronger and stronger.
      Bless the both of you.

one would expect an emotional reaction to what is essentially an emotionally charged song......well enjoyed by me today....... Nice one DA

Thanks Neville. I'm a bit uncomfortable with some of the clumsy phrasing in this song but overall the idea seemed to work. Was a long while back though.

I think clumsy is a subjective thing.. I kind of like the lumps , they add rather than detract in my opinion.. I guess it depends on the tune you set them to.. which was maybe different to mine.... and let's not forget, our styles and tastes and stuff change over time..... N

What a wonderful but sad emotional write, the line
" i think i'll write it all down in a letter and send it with my heart for you"
really got to me, such hurt.
From your replies I know it is fictional but it was written in reality.

Another rare occasion where it goes into my favourites.
