catching raindrops

dusk arising

catching raindrops to the midday bar
drinking friends talk about their cars
turned around, so surprised to see
her little brother right next to me

say fellah what you doing in this town
we talk computer as the rain comes down
and how's your sister, how she doing these days
"oh she's married now" --- and i'm in a haze

rain comes down at the bar room door
still he's talking but i can hear no more
every 'last night' i'd been dreaming of her
lovers on heat in mid summer splendor

the barrooms buzzin, i'm shaking in my shoes
hey little brother, that's really good news
"she must be really happy, i wish her well"
a shakey reply, from a deepening hell

Ooooh I can feel the shock of a love lost D.A. - - - we never get over hope until news like that comes along. A heart-rending read.

Yes indeed. The situation was a bit of a shocker because only a few months had passed. Ho-hum - such is life. Was a long time ago.

Was not a nice feeling at the time but life is a great repairer.
