She was new in my life,
Her birth gave new meaning to me.
I saw her grow through childhood,
Through to adulthood
Into the beautiful woman she became.
Once more I will see new life
As my daughter gives birth,
Birth to a young one
Into her world,
Into my world.
A world where joy will abound,
Where love will be given
To the mother,
To the father,
But especially to the child.
That love will never fail
As I will be there,
Surrounding my family,
With all my love.

That unconditional love for our offspring is a wonderful thing. I know the rewards grandchildren bring to us in our senior years.
Such joy.
I hope your words were well received, as they are here.

Thank you Angela, home soon and a great deal to come into your life in the coming months.
A truly delightful poetic welcome to the newest family member dear Andy - Congratulations on the birth of a grand daughter and am sure she will treasure these words when she is grown....... thank you for sharing them here.
Thank you for your kind words Fay but I wrote this for somebody else who had a new granddaughter.
GP's - to GC's
distant yet close
not responsible, yet more caring
compassionate, yet patient
"If I had known that grandchildren could be so much fun I would have had them first!"
That's the difference between being responsible vs caring
We are responsible for our children
Beautiful- you did a great job!
