Trapped

Neville

Trapped

She

Looks

 Too young

To have ever been

In love with anyone

Although I heard that once she

Carved both wrists in an effort to get clear

Ouch! It is truly tragic to hear of young people self harming for whatever reason. I have to admit that i cannot get my head around understanding the phenomenon.

A really powerful, punchy and disturbing piece from you today Neville.

Thank you DA... I can understand what you mean, but for me, like I said.. tis just another day in the office.. N

OOhh, I'm all faint now. I've heard some horror stories. 'Cutting up' happens, but I would rather cut up a joint of meat.
I'm all of a shudder now. I hate the theme really - hate hearing details, that is.
A cry for help? Yet desperately so.

      • Neville

yes, it happens and for lots of reasons and not always a cry for help.. many hurt themselves behind closed doors ... thank you orchidee for checking in..

Sad but familiar - harming of self in some measure seems to come from too hasty an entrapment to love or lust............ a powerful piece of writing Neville.

thank you for considering these words Fay....

This brought home to the sentiments of my Bi-polar brother who has attemted suicide on many occassions. I pray for him everyday that the next day he stays with us. You have written some reality which a lot of peple are troubled with. This dis-order needs more attention and suggestions of how to make these types of people look on the brighter side to life. You brought tears to my eyes reading this poem...

thank you for considering these words and for your very kind comment Kevin... N

This was written with an acceptance that only those with experience directly or indirectly could understand the necessity of.

Thanks for sharing NEVILLE for many (often Teens) Self-harm is their only way of gaining attention ~ a *cri de coeur !* Alas often it is *The most unkindest cut of all* often with tragic results ! I (BRIAN) teach mostly 16's to 25's the Age group in which self-harm peaks ! In 1 to 1 councelling (I am aqualified Councellor ~ as is Angela) they say *I just wanted someone to listen to ME* ! Fortunately (so far) I have never lost a Student ~ and they see me as a Neutral Listening Ear ! We don't have Parents Evenings in College ! We treat all our Students as *Responsible Adults*. You have opened Pandoras Famous Box !

Blessings & Peace to You & Yours
                Yours BRIAN & ANGELA ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ’™

A strong write Neville. I too cannot understand why it happens to the young. When I was Chaplain to the Sea Cadets one of the young ladies self harmed but she would not talk about it with me.

thank you my friend... even I who made a career out of mental ill health and associated sufferings may have only caught a glimpse of the very tip of the proverbial iceberg......
