Perfection
They say perfection is in the eyes of the beholder
But is that really true?
Perfection seems to be the same for everyone
It's only the desperation for perfection that varies in every person
In fact, I don't even believe in perfection anymore
Its a meaningless contrivance that has one purpose:
To distract us from what really matters
And I guess you could say it works
Because for so many years of my life, I denied it
But now I'm accepting the fact that
I have a deep desire for perfection
Despite the fact that I don't believe in it
What is this world we live in?

- Comment from author about the poem: This poem was absolutely randomized. I was sitting by a water garden, and suddenly this idea popped into my head. I don't exactly know how these ideas form, but I usually end up liking how it turns out. I hope you all enjoy it too. Let me know what you think. I'll post again tomorrow morning.

A good look at perfection and how it changes according to choice - - I liked your presentation Rose which clearly outlined the main reasons in life for needing distraction - - well- crafted and very meaningful.
Thank you. I appreciate the positive feedback.
I am so glad you posted these delightful words..
I have always had a thing about perfection myself... not that I strive for it in myself but am rather intrigued by it as a concept.. or more precisely as a subjective concept... the subject has even been a predominant feature in a would be novel I have been playing with for several years..... Cheers,
Neville
I have an unhealthy relationship with perfection. Not just striving for it, but also just the whole concept of it. It´s quite interesting and is one of the things that peaked my curiosity in psychology.
You and me both them ...
In our lives I believe we all aim for perfection to progress in life. We all need something for which to aim.
If we reach perfection where do we go from there?
Exactly. Us humans keep trying to achieve the impossible, but if we were to reach it, what would we do then?
