Breakdown to breakthrough (warning emotional)

Poetic Dan

I was walking real fine letting new tunes free my mind.

Then came this beautiful beat, a flow that sucked me straight it

German Shepherd by my side perfectly in my stride

I was apart of his soul as the words "warrior women" synchronised

First time listening and I'm strolling at the edge of the park

Hanging on every syllable knowing what's waiting for my arms

Suddenly like thunder a storm of emotion grew

I know where it's going and I don't want it to be true

Fighting back the tears with vibration in my ears

Within moments there was a rock in my throat

I couldn't fight it any more and it just broke

At this point I'm about to exit from the park

Pride took over knowing how precious life is

Allowing the sprinkles to run freely drying on my face

Beautiful art being sung out with an attempt to heal

The strength that's needed I know is unreal

So many walk around with this shadow and still smile

In honour of every single connected guardian child

I take in this precious air, learning to exhale ungrateful thoughts.

Life is beautifully ours

To be open and raw

Emotions are the key

To find out what we're made of

  • Comment from author about the poem: I didn't know the name of the song as it played from my phone in my pocket. This is for all those that suffer the loss of a child, you are my heroes under a broken smile. The power within you shows we can all survive, any problems that arrives, just release and share our stories for another sunrise.. Much peace and respect

There are some things which happen in our lives which turn us about - put us into a spin of desperation and questions yes angered questions flow with tears of sorrow, guilt and more raging anger.
A truly testing time of unknown outcome.
For me, on the other side of this i have found peace in a spiritual belief. Though anger and sorrow are still there and fall from me when my thoughts return.
Am i stronger, better, more balanced for this... no!

That you most certainly are my friend and why there is so much wisdom I feel in your pen. Roads you've travelled, I could never imagine.

        Always appreciate your time
        Much peace and respect

"Pride took over knowing how precious life is". You aimed your pen well to paper that and the result from this poem written in songful moments from the sound of your ears is quite remarkable. It clearly reveals a lot more about how your pen controls your mind over the matters in which they are concerned. Unveiling one's thoughts to an audience of poets and poetesses has a top-notch quality about the relevance of how much life really means to you. You take it on well, Dan...

Such an emotive write and so true of music, it can bring all emotions to us but the overwhelming one is that which you describe.
