Hopeful Harvest

Tune: Wir Pflugen

('We plough the fields and scatter')

Psalm 67

********

God to us be merciful

Come to us, bless us all

Cause your face to on us shine

With beams of life divine

That upon the earth your way

Be known ever, each day

Your saving health, salvation

Be shown to each nation

Chorus

Let all people praise you

O holy God and true

Give thanks and worship to you name

The name of endless fame

O let the nations be glad

Remain no longer sad

For you shall judge the people

Righteously, we shall see

And you shall govern upon

The nations, here each one

Lord, you shall be seen to reign

Evil may not remain - Chorus

Then shall earth her increase yield

From hill, meadow, vale, field

And God, e'en our own God He

Shall bless us, all shall see

All ends of earth shall Him fear

In awe come to Him near

He Ruler be for ever

His reign shall cease never - Chorus

  • Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in Verses: 7.6.7.6. 7.6.7.6. metre; Chorus: 6.6.8.6. metre. A bit early for all to have been gathered in yet, but a Harvest theme today. The Psalm suitably has a 'Chorus' or 'Refrain' in it.

We have just started rehearsing the Harvest Anthem that we, the Church Choir, are going to sing at Harvest.

Thanks Gold. Quick - in some places they have harvest about mid-September it seems. We turn up in October, and they say 'You've missed it!'

And may you cease never again to fear in every footstep you take. The Heavens up to reveal such beauty on an unimaginably and beautiful scale. Great work completed here...orchi...
