Now we are completely threadbare

I feel compelled to ask

 

What are best friends really for

Answers on a first class post card please

 

Tho I do so hope not

should you eva catch a cold

I would surely lend my hand to hold

 

And should by chance you eva need to holla

I would be your cough sneeze

and your swalla……

      I always like the Plath quote about friendship, you know the one about vomiting?

      I guess a best friend is a safe place to lie your head when you have a cold, or a wobble, or a catastrophe?

      It’s safe because they still see you and love you and they don’t just see the cold or the wobble or the catastrophe.

      I gave my protagonist a best friend because I so wanted one myself... and then...

                Best friends to the bitter end said the crows in Jungledbook and I took that as my mantra - so if you're ever in a jam - here I am........ ha - - - yet another ol' 'quote....... but I really believe in the message between your lines mi amigo.

                  I'm such a recluse these days i hardly know what friendship is any more. Oh yes i remember, they're the ones who showed their true colours. Not to be sneezed at when in need.
