she wrote a love poem
he wrote an odd ode
late into the evening
in their musing abode
She played piano
romantic sonatas
He practiced euphonium
chaotic cantatas
she danced ballerina
tchaikovsky's white swan
he thumped to the pistols
and pogo'd along
forty years later
grandkids at their feet
he bought her a tandem
she gave him a toilet seat
harmonious indifference
to what does not matter
for joy fills their home
where toddlers pitta-patter
now he practices yoga
and she repairs firearms
both totally sold
on each others charms
an oddly matched couple
but an obvious fact
lifes a funny old game
when opposites attract

Ha ha ha - - your pen never ceases to amaze with its unique looks at life D.A. - - yes opposites do attract and charmingly change but some of those years later tasks gave me the giggles especially the thought of her now "repairing firearms" --- love your sense of humour my friend

THANKS FOR SHARING DA ~ Opposites attracting ? It really made us think ! Angela (now asleep in bed !) and I have much in common ~ but also much that separates us ! My background is N English hers is Spanish ~ she is a Wine Bottle ~ Im a Beer Can ~ she is a Classical Pianist ~ Im a Guitarist mainly Folk & Country ! She loves Spicey Food I prefer Bland - She loves Summer & Winter I prefer Autumn & Spring. She is an Anatomist and an Expert on the external Physical Human Body (also a Maseusse !) ~ I am a Biochemist and an expert on the Internal Workings of the Human Body ~ we are both Nutritionists. But we are REALLY in LOVE and perhaps thats all that matters !
I love the obvious diferences of your Couple ~ but their mutual affection (and fruitfulness) is obvious despite them. A story about Toilet Seats ! Angela were invited to a Wedding and on the present list was a £30 mahogany Toilet Seat which we thought would be a *fun* present so we bought and it was delivered. A few months after the Wedding we received a circular *Thank You Letter* *Thank you for you lovely present ~ we shall think of you whenever we use it !* Loved the structure & subject of the POEM !

Yes opposites do attract, I have some friends who are like that, you just wouldn't believe that they should be together in the way that they behave until you see the love for each other in their eyes.
