My Solitary Magpie

sylviasearcher

There he is again
That lonely magpie
Looking happy enough
I think he knows something
I don’t
I think he wants to tell me

He looks a little full of himself
That solitary magpie
Stealing the garden berries
I think he might have all the answers
I don’t
I think he wants to show me

He’s relentless and not giving in
That handsome creature
Disturbing my ritual wallowing in autumnal shades
I think he thinks he belongs there where
I don’t
I think he wants to convince me

He’s flown off and now my garden is empty
That cocky little bird
Now I’m the one who is lonely
I think he thinks he can teach me to feel
I don’t
I think he might be just right

an interesting and unusual subject ..

One for sorrow dont they say.. but then not everything unlike magpies are straight forward black & white... write....

Indeed itโ€™s like nature gives me ideas sometimes... I was watching a magpie in the garden and he did disappear.

But I think there may be more to it...

there is bound to be more to it..

But maybe he or she have something in common at least?

Birds like the magpie though beautiful in feather have a reputation for drawing attention to the what, when and where........ a good source of reflection in this inspired verse Sylvia.

I like to think there are little messages all over planted for the seeing

The crafty little so and so's will create moments you very rarely see these days. ThEy ruffle up their feathers ab=nd battle on until his target is rewarded with a silver milk top split open...Good write, my friend...
