Deep Purple

sylviasearcher

Sharp scratch
And the colour of my blood
Runs not red
More like deep maroon
And a buzz fills my head

Legitimately spills
And the liquid fills quick
No slow escape
Pushed out like an urgency
And deep purple pours the shape

Mind wonders
Of the colour of my blood
Fast on wall
Seeping like an inevitability
Dead red from some careless fall

Pressure punctuates
And the colour of my blood
Clots red
On the cloud like cushion
I hold tight as stale air fills my head

Numb knot
And my heart pumps
Without sound
Like a miraculous machine
Another day left unfound

And the colour of my blood
Runs not red

Profoundly poetic yet not without also being mildly disturbing ....

Plathesque if there was ever such a thing, or word...... Neville

Oh you know I like to sense some Plath in my veins

    • orchidee

You've cut the veins then, and not the arteries, if it's purple blood. Oohh, shudder, what am I doing? I hate going on about 'cutting up'.
The only 'sharp scratch' I know is when medics say it just before they give us an injection.

I went for a blood test and that’s what she said ...

        Well expressed of your uniqueness

        • sylviasearcher

          Oh thanks my friend.

Some days I wish I felt less unique.

          Unique is pretty lonely sometimes...

And I'm going for a blood test later in the week - thanks for this - ignore me - a super write.

It was written after my blood test this morning... I just made it darker maybe?
