Tune: Bunessan
('Morning has broken')
Psalm 85 v.7-13
********
Show us your mercy, LORD, and salvation
Grant to us all, of every nation
I will hear what the LORD God will now speak
He shall speak peace to humble and meek
But let them not turn unto foolishness
For He will not then prosper nor bless
Surely His salvation is near they who
Fear* Him, and in Him their trust renew
So then glory shall come, dwell in our land
Under the guidance of God's good hand
Mercy and truth shall here together meet
Righteousness and peace each other greet
Truth from the earth shall spring up and be known
Righteousness from heaven shall be shown
The LORD shall give that which is good, and so
Our land shall her increase yield and show
Righteousness before the LORD God shall go
He shall make His footsteps a way, show
Us His way truly, in His right path we
Shall be blessed, and secure we shall be

* Fear - in the sense of awe, respect;
not in sense of dread, terror.

Good one Orchi and a wonderful tune, good to see you chose the Cat Stevens version rather than the one in the Hymn Book.
Thanks Gold. Much difference in the words? Any difference at all? Pity Cat is not Cat now - he's a Muslim I think.
I could do with reviving .. it was a hard day yesterday.. kinda liked these words tho... N
Thanks N.
pleasure..
Let's hope my singing is not revived, and keeps to dodo status!
Great job Orchi!
Thanks Christina.

Your POEM based on Psalm 85 gives me FIVE thoughts for me to ponder throughout today !
1. Show us mercy O Lord
2. Let us not turn to foolishness !
3. So then shall Your Glory come
4. TRUTH shall spring up from the Earth - AMEN
5. RIGHTEOUSNESS shall go before the LORD !
